Among all the existing amino acids, the essential amino acids are those that we must ingest through the diet since our organism is incapable of synthesizing them.

In fact, the essential amino acid content of a protein defines its Biological Value.

The amino acids that the metabolism can manufacture are called non-essential amino acids and their presence in the diet is not as important as that of the essential ones.

On the other hand, L-Phenylalanine, L-Methionine, L-Lysine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan also have important functions in metabolism:

• L-Methionine: Sulfur amino acid that promotes growth and is involved in the synthesis of numerous metabolites in the body.
