WHAT IS VITOBEST ARTIFLEX?

HOW DOES UC-II COLLAGEN BENEFIT US?

• Resists hydrolysis in the intestine improving absorption.
• Intestinal hydrolysis (part of the digestion process) normally removes much of the classic collagen, absorbing only a tiny part.
• Lonza's UC-II has a unique mechanism of action that directly stimulates the production of collagen by chondrocytes, which are the cells of cartilage tissue responsible for tissue maintenance and collagen production.

WHY IS TYPE II COLLAGEN IMPORTANT?

Type II collagen is the main component of cartilage tissues.

Articular cartilage is a highly specialized tissue that covers the bony surfaces that are part of the joints. It is responsible for protecting the bones of the joints and facilitating movement.

Articular cartilage does not have blood vessels, it is nourished superficially by synovial fluid and deeply by bone for nourishment, and it has little capacity to regenerate.

Chondrocytes, the only cellular element of cartilage, are responsible for the synthesis and maintenance of the extracellular matrix, composed of 80% water and 20% solid matter, whose main components are type II collagen and proteoglycans. That is why the contribution of external collagen such as UC-II is vital in order to help recover lost cartilage and as a preventive.
