Lamberts L-Methionine is an essential amino acid. Fruits and vegetables are generally low in methionine, but high levels of methionine can be found in eggs, nuts, fish, and meats. Methionine is a sulfur-containing amino acid and, together with cysteine, represents the main source of sulfur in our diets. It is converted in the liver to S-Adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe), a potent antioxidant. Low SAMe levels have been linked to low moods. Amino acids are used by the body to build proteins. Proteins are essential for the formation of cells, being also linked to the biochemical structure of hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters and antibodies. Take 1 or 2 capsules a day with water or fruit juice. It is preferable to take amino acids with fruit juice or water, rather than with milk. Amino acids are better assimilated if taken ½ hour before any meal or before bedtime. This product is not recommended for children or for pregnant or lactating women.
