Himalaya Neem Skin Wellness Extract Neema Neem (Margosa tree/Azadirachta indica) was described in an ancient Ayurvedic text, Charaka Samhita, as horn sarva nivarini (which keeps all diseases at bay) or arishtha (communicator of diseases).

Neem has been used in the Ayurvedic tradition for thousands of years to support general health and well-being. The roots, bark, gum, leaves, fruits, seeds, and oil from the seeds are used in medicinal products for internal and local use.

The native Burmese Neem trees are found in large numbers in the dry forests of India.

Neem leaves mainly contain the flavonoid quercetin and nimbosterol and various limonoids. Quercetin, a polyphenol flavonoid, is known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties.
