226ERS High Fructose 1 Gel x 80g

High Fructose Gel provides 55g of carbohydrate and 250 mg of sodium per gel, which come from maltodextrin and fructose, with a 10:8 ratio.

This formulation based on “multi-transportable carbohydrates” has been shown through studies that in prolonged exercises the use of carbohydrates that are absorbed in the intestine by different transporters is the only way to increase the rate of assimilation and oxidation of carbohydrates. exogenous carbon above 60 g/hour

To do this, research confirms that the ideal is to combine sources of carbohydrates.

We have chosen Maltodextrin, to control the molecular weight/osmolarity, and the other has to be Fructose.

MALTODEXTRIN:

- It is absorbed in the intestine by the SLGT-1 transporter and converted into glucose to travel to cells and provide them with energy quickly.
- It has a high glycemic index, rapid increase in blood glucose, instant energy release.
- Rapid gastric emptying due to its large molecular weight and low osmolarity, promoting digestion and reducing gastrointestinal side effects.

FRUCTOSE:

- It is absorbed in the intestine using GLUT5 transporters, different from those that absorb other carbohydrates, the absorbed fructose is directed from the intestine to the liver by GLUT2 transporters and fills the liver glycogen stores that are lost during intense physical exercise.
- A gradual absorption occurs with constant and progressive release of energy. It is for this reason that the combination of both, maltodextrin and fructose, allows you to digest and assimilate a high amount of carbohydrates per hour, minimizing the risk of suffering from gastric problems.
